In God We Trust

Our Founders established this country on solid Judeo-Christian values.
While the motto of "In God We Trust" was not established until 1956, the Declaration of Independence stated, "with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
This week at ReAL, Congressman J. Randy Forbes discusses the importance of our Christian heritage in America in his article, In God We Trust.

As the founder and president of The Congressional Prayer Caucus, Congressman Forbes recently sponsored a resolution to reaffirm the national motto, which can be downloaded at ReAL's website.
Forbes also worked with other Congressional members, and groups like ReAL, to restore "In God We Trust" as the national motto in the new Capitol Visitors Center.
In 1956 Congress made "In God We Trust" the official motto of the United States. But that belief has been an integral part of American society since the time of her founding. As President John Kennedy said, "The guiding principle and prayer of this Nation has been, is now, and ever shall be ‘In God We Trust.'"
