New World Order

To me it is clear the narcissist in the White House thinks of himself as larger than the President of one nation.  It fits as he does not know which nation he represents.  America is a sovereign nation and we absolutely DO NOT want any binding ties that submit us to rule by international law.  He has tried with Cap & Trade (FAILURE - so far blocked) and now as a note of his disconnection with the American People has recommended to the UN the blockage of Arizona's immigration law as an example of US human rights.  Will somebody buy this twig a clue? Out in '12.....Back to REAL Americans for President.

Beck Says His `Restoring Honor' Rally Shows Discontent With U.S. Direction

Fox News commentator Glenn Beck said the hundreds of thousands who attended his Aug. 28 rally in Washington were expressing a deep dissatisfaction with the direction of the country under the Obama administration.
“People aren’t happy about things,” he said in an interview on the “Fox News Sunday” program yesterday. “A good number of people are not happy with the direction we’re going.”

Liberalism is Failing - Heritage Foundation

On Tuesday, the National Association of Realtors reported that July sales of existing homes fell by 27% from June of this year and by 25.5% compared to July 2009. This annual sales rate of 3.83 million homes was the lowest since NAR began keeping track of sales in 1999. Then yesterday, the Commerce Department reported that July sales of new homes fell 12.4% from June and by 32.4% compared to July 2009. This annual rate of 276,000 new units sold is the lowest since 1963, when government records were first kept. The source of the plunge is no secret: July's numbers reflect the first month when existing home sales received no boost from the home buyer tax credit.

Americans have seen this movie before. Last fall after the Obama administration's Cash for Clunkers program dried up, new automobile sales plummeted. General Motors' sales plunged 36 percent in September 2009 compared with August. Ford plummeted 37 percent. Chrysler dove 33 percent. And Americans are still feeling the hangover from the original car spending binge. Thanks to the destruction of traded-in cars mandated by President Obama, used car prices have soared this year. This means that the most cash-strapped Americans who are already dealing with 9.5% unemployment now are finding it harder to find an affordable car, all thanks to government intervention in the marketplace.

Honey, I Shrunk My Approval Ratings

By KARL ROVE

In what will rank as one of the all-time presidential PR disasters, we're now well over half way through what the White House called "the summer of recovery." And what a recovery it's been.

Earlier this month, first-time claims for unemployment hit a nine-month high. The unemployment rate remains at 9.5% and 18.4% of workers are out of a job, can only get part-time work, or have given up looking for a job altogether. Sales of existing homes dropped 27% from June to July, hitting the lowest point since data were first collected in 1999. The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index fell to 50.4 in July, continuing a slide that started in February. And the stock market is down 11% from its peak in April.

Is it Just Me or Do these somehow relate?

1st. Story -  (as posted previously) - A Virginia lawmaker looking to enact an immigration law similar to Arizona's is challenging the Obama administration to come at his state with a lawsuit, too, saying he hopes the Justice Department has "so many targets" they can't focus. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/07/11/virginia-lawmaker-challenges-feds

+ County official pushes Va. immigration crackdown http://www.wtopnews.com/?sid=2015906&nid=730

2nd Story - Defense Secretary Robert Gates gave lawmakers a carefully hedged defense Tuesday of Navy plans to relocate a Norfolk-based aircraft carrier to Florida and agreed to consider whether the move is worth its price tag of $600 million or higher.http://hamptonroads.com/2009/01/expect-cuts-defense-programs-gates-testifies

Now the 3rd story - Florida AG McCollum Unveils Immigration Bill Modeled After Arizona's http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/11/florida-ag-mccollum-unveils-immigration-modeled-arizonas/

Bottom line - Watch Out Florida you may just upset a certain person (current federal exec. sitting in the White House) and he just might want to relocate your naval ports.....hmmm, where could it be maybe a "blue state?"

Ominous Signs for the current DC Occupants

Just remember to vote them OUT come November.....

Low Approval of Congress Not Budging, - Congress' job rating from the American people in August remains near the historical lows seen in recent months. Nineteen percent of Americans now approve of the overall job Congress is doing, while 75% disapprove.

Go Virginia...sharing a letter written to our Reps

Dear Senator Webb,

In recent weeks we have seen the federal government move to defeat the state of Arizona’s legislation SB 1070 deeming it as having racist intentions and/or undertones. We know that federal law in place covers the points outlined in SB1070 though it is not being enforced. It is not being enforced due to political motives which are based on the hope of eventually giving illegal aliens amnesty and to bring their votes to a certain political party. There are not only Mexican workers illegally crossing our border to find work but persons from countries all over the world, criminals and terrorist with the intent to do harm to our citizens and our nation. Is filling our nation with such people worth the votes hoping to be gained for a specific political party? Any party who would sacrifice the nation’s citizens in order to maintain power is a party that should not receive one vote.
Our great state of Virginia has picked up the flag of national concern where Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli issued a legal opinion that authorizes Virginia police officers to check the immigration status of anyone stopped by police for any reason. Prince William County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution that makes it harder for illegal immigrants to access county services. These initiatives have been deemed racist by certain groups. How is it that when legal facts and common sense trump political motives the reaction from the losing side is to turn to personal attacks and name calling. Is this political vote-baiting or is it based on the need of protecting its citizens? Clearly these initiatives are not racist. Please support these intentions of Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and the Prince William County Board of Supervisors as their names are in the news though there is a solid majority of our nation that stand behind them and agree with their initiatives.
I do not need to receive a letter of response written by your staff outlining the wonderful things you are doing to see our nation protected. Just take the letter into action and protect us.

Best regards,

Jonathan Varnell

Join Newt: Sign This Letter To Say NO to a Lame Duck Session

http://www.americansolutions.com/lameduck/

To Member of Congress:
The Left are planning to subvert the will of the American people. You have the power to stop them.
Leading Congressional Democrats are dead set on passing controversial and unpopular legislation in a special Lame Duck session of Congress after the November 2nd Election.  It’s the only way Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi can succeed in advancing their unpopular agenda because they know they do not have the support of the American people.
Given the Left's track record during this current session of Congress, the American people have the right to know where their elected representatives stand.

At American Solutions, we've developed the following No Lame Duck Pledge and we're trying to get as many citizens as possible to sign our letter urging members of Congress to pledge the following:
I, undersigned Member of the 111th Congress, pledge to the citizens of the State of _____________  I will not participate in a Lame Duck session of Congress.  I believe reconvening the Congress after the  November 2nd election and prior to the seating of the new 112th Congress, smacks of the worst kind of political corruption.  Attempting to pass unpopular legislation subverts the will of the American people and is an abusive power grab.
We know the Left are capable of using cheap tricks. We saw it during the health care reform debate. We know they are willing to ignore the will of the people. They ignored the town hall meetings and the clear signal the voters of Massachusetts sent by electing Scott Brown and passed the health care bill anyway.
Given the Left’s track record during this current session of Congress, the American people have the right to know where their elected representatives stand.
Your friend,

Full speed ahead on repeal

The quest to repeal Obamacare is not over. In fact, recent events in Virginia and Missouri indicate the battle has just begun.
On Monday, Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli's challenge to the constitutionality of Obamacare's individual mandate overcame its first legal hurdle. His lawsuit protests the federal government's claimed authority to regulate a person's decision not to purchase a product such as insurance.
"I don't think in my lifetime we've seen one statute that so erodes liberty than this health care bill," Cuccinelli said in a recent interview with The Heritage Foundation's Rob Bluey. Be sure to watch Bluey's exclusive interview on YouTube.
In rejecting the administration's request to dismiss Virginia's case, U.S. District Court Judge Henry Hudson wrote about the dubious logic of the mandate:
Unquestionably, this regulation radically changes the landscape of health insurance      coverage in America. … No reported case from any federal appellate court has extended the Commerce Clause or the Tax Clause to include the regulation of a person's decision not to purchase a product, notwithstanding its effect on interstate commerce.
Just one day after the Virginia decision, the people of Missouri, a bellwether state in 2008, brought their opposition to Obamacare to the ballot box. The results: by a margin of almost 3 to 1, Missourians don't approve of the mandate and they want out.
Virginia survived the federal government's motion to dismiss.  This is the first of many hurdles we will be facing - but this is a huge victory nonetheless.
As you all know - how this case turns out will have huge ramifications for the cause of liberty and even Federalism itself.  While we are still reviewing the 32 page ruling, I would still like to point your attention to one of the concluding paragraphs in the judge's ruling:
While this case raises a host of complex constitutional issues, all seem to distill to the single question of whether or not Congress has the power to regulate- and tax- a citizen's decision not to participate in interstate commerce. Neither the U.S. Supreme Court nor any circuit of appeals has squarely addressed this issue.  No reported case from any federal appellate court has extended the Commerce Clause or Tax Clause to include the regulation of a person's decision not to purchase a product, notwithstanding its effect on interstate commerce.  Given the presence of some authority arguably supporting the theory underlying each side's position, this court cannot conclude at this stage that the complaint fails to state a cause of action.
The secretary's motion to dismiss will therefore be denied.  Resolution of the controlling issues in this case must await a hearing on the merits.

"Tea party" activists drawn to Williamsburg and its portrayal of Founding Fathers

WILLIAMSBURG -- The original Tea Party may have been in Boston, but some modern-day "tea party" activists are finding a powerful narrative this summer at a different historic landmark: Colonial Williamsburg.
History is their CUP OF TEA
The Tea Party rediscovers Colonial Williamsburg

Amid the history buffs and parents with young children wandering along the crushed shell paths of Virginia's restored colonial city, some noticeably angrier and more politically minded tourists can often be found.

Will Washington's Failures Lead To Second American Revolution?

The Internet is a large-scale version of the "Committees of Correspondence" that led to the first American Revolution — and with Washington's failings now so obvious and awful, it may lead to another.
People are asking, "Is the government doing us more harm than good? Should we change what it does and the way it does it?"
Pruning the power of government begins with the imperial presidency.
