"Where reform is needed," could open a long list of items and yes it most certainly is.  I would like to address this particular point as I recently commented in a local paper on the loss of jobs in America.  The writer mentioned that the loss of jobs was due to the evil politicians (partly true) and corporate America chasing $s and taking our jobs overseas.  I responded that I believe that any of us facing the largest corporate tax in the world and ever growing regulations would also choose to go somewhere where our business would be more profitable.  A sound start to bringing our jobs home would be lowering these taxes and cutting stifling regulations and bureaucracy.  Such as but not limited to the EPA.  Read up in the link;Why We must replace the EPA

A Program to be Supported - School Choice

If we want to pull ourselves and our country up by the bootstraps a main priority is improving the education of our children.  Public schools (more often than not) do not make the grade.  There are many reasons for such though as children get older by the day we can not wait for a "future," remedy.  The initiative of school choice allows parents options, the option to stay where they are if they are satisfied with their child's education or the option to move to a better performing school. Address the main point, the child, and it is an easy decision.

Freedom OF Religion, a part of our core DNA

As today is Sunday and reflecting on the significance of such I thought of how far our nation has drifted from it's Christian beginning.  I was reading a Sunday school lesson and there was a foot note about Noah Webster.  Noah Webster known as the father of American education stated,"Almost all the civil liberty now enjoyed in the world owes its origin to the principles of the christian religion," and "The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scripture ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws." 
These were also the views of our founding fathers and God watched over them in creating a new nation, a fresh start for liberty and freedom of religion.  Freedom OF religion and not freedom FROM religion.  This is where we somehow became lost in our nation's development. There should be no issue for anyone to practice whatever religion they so please.  Can we not remember the Pilgrims setting forth for a new beginning of religious freedom culminating in starting a new city as a light upon the hill?  
We have let ourselves down.  We have allowed liberals to deny all of us equal opportunity of our religious beliefs as in "prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
The answers to our problems as a nation, as a family and as individuals are in the bible. Let's read, reflect and remind ourselves that only WE can make a difference with the assistance of God.

Symbolic (?) - Another Victory for US

You may have heard that yesterday the House of Representatives voted to repeal ObamaCare.  A significant victory for both you and I.  This is the effect of your votes last November to ensure our views on fiscal responsibility and leaner government start now.  Your vote DOES count.
Many are calling this a,"symbolic," victory because even though the House has voted against it the Senate (under Democrats control) will unlikely even allow this to come to a vote hence halting the efforts to overturn ObamaCare.  While this may very well be true the underlying reason the powers that be in the Senate will not allow the vote is because they fear 1) it will be overturned and 2) they will be on the record as to having voted for/against this initiative which will certainly come into play in their re-election bids in 2012 (would this mean career over principle?).
Face facts this initiative no matter how well intended is another step in an ever-expanding government that can only be held in check by the voters.  Let's replace this initiative with a common sense approach though for now we've made another step in the right direction, congratulations and let's keep going!

The title was a quote from James Madison (author of the Constitution).  Initiatives put forth by the current administration such as "ObamaCare,"( but not limited to this only) run counter to such principles set forth by our Constitution and would be more fitting for a socialist country.  So how did we end up with such initiatives becoming law?  Popularity and votes.  Free ice cream is always appreciated and when you're the one giving you get the votes.  Though the idea of "free," anything is an illusion.  Someone is paying and in this case it is most of us.

Stick to your Guns

The article (link below) speaks of the realities the "Tea party," supported incoming representatives will face in the new congress and that they will have to bend on certain campaign pledges if they expect to retain the office in the next election.  This is exactly the reason they were voted in, in the first place.  Which is to finally put forth representatives who stand their ground on principles dire to our nation and NOT compromise our future so that a few individuals can shape their personal careers while our country whithers away before our eyes.  Stand your Ground!

Realizing Gov. Christie has already proclaimed that he will not run for President in 2012, I for one, certainly wish him the best in turning the sad story of New Jersey's state of affairs around. Of course with such it would be a clear example to the nation of what an efficient leader can do.  He could be propelled into the national leadership role with a definitive CV covering all the check points of experience necessary to lead the United States of America (unlike the community organizer of today).  We salute Governor Christie and the dedication and efforts he has made to turning around the state of affairs in New Jersey and setting an example to the current national executive of true responsible leadership.  And as an inspiration to all of us who face the silly liberals daily he has done and continues doing this by putting his foot down and demanding we can no longer go on spending what we do not have. Gov. Starting off correctly - 2011

It sets the tone for the new congress to start off the year by reading the Constitution.  Clearly this has come about due to the pressure that has been exerted on politicians by "Tea Partiers."  It could also be seen as a shame as it took this movement to remind politicians to follow the foundation of all of our laws.  However we have exerted this pressure and we should continue to remind them that they work for us and that we call the shots.  Just as we all have personal responsibility for our families and our communities we also have the responsibility as US citizens to ensure that our nation is being protected from those who intend to harm her from within and outside our borders.  Let's do more in 2011!
