"I'm Tired" by Robert A. Hall

I'll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce,` and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth around" to people` who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.

Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate.

Charles Krauthammer on Obama's first year

President Obama's first year in office represents a "downward trajectory from divinity to mortality," conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer told an audience of Heritage President Club members this week.
Focusing his remarks primarily on the President's foreign policy, Krauthammer reviewed a year of failed soft-diplomacy initiatives, including the "apology tours" and concessions to unfriendly powers.
Continuing this "illusory foreign policy" poses grave consequences to our nation, Krauthammer explains:
It would constitute a gradual, American retreat. It will have inexorable consequences easily and succinctly stated. When erstwhile allies begin to see the America umbrella beginning to be withdrawn, they will begin to accommodate themselves to those countries that we were protecting them from…[This approach to foreign policy will bring about ] the weakening of alliances; the strengthening of centers of adversarial power in Moscow, Beijing, Caracas, Tehran and elsewhere will continue at pace until some cataclysm wakes us up. Such are the wages of living in a virtual world. I pray we leave it soon."

And my vote doesn't count....

A small feeling of redemption from the below piece as the new Governor of Virginia will give the GOP response to Obama's State of the Union address next Wednesday. Glad it's him...and glad I voted for him.

Virginia governor to deliver GOP response to Obama

WASHINGTON (AP) - Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell will deliver the Republican response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address next Wednesday.
Republican leaders in Congress announced the decision on Thursday in a statement, saying that McDonnell "understands that the American people are more interested in shrinking unemployment than expanding government."
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky called McDonnell "an impressive public servant and an excellent choice to offer Republican solutions for our country." McDonnell was inaugurated this past week. He won the Democratic-held governorship last fall, one of two major GOP victories. Republicans also unseated a Democrat in New Jersey.

Believe this is a Good thing...

Though I admit I do not know where Senator elect Brown's stands on many issues, what he has openly stated about National Health Care and his opposition to it is a turn in the right direction. In regards to the state of the nation, when a state (Mass.) that has had a liberal "leaning," for the past half century votes in a Conservative candidate, well that reflects the state of the nation.

We want a small unobtrusive national government that will provide National Security, just laws and tax policies that promote innovation and ingenuity. Leave the rest to "us," under local control.

Good News, the gears are turning....

One year ago, President Barack Obama delivered his inaugural address at the foot of the Capitol, laid out an agenda of “big plans” for his administration, and chided “cynics” who “fail to understand that the ground has shifted beneath them.” One year later, as voters head to the ballot box in Massachusetts, it seems that the ground very well may have shifted under President Obama.
In a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll released yesterday, President Obama’s approval ratings have “plummeted to 50%, down from 64% after he took office,” giving him an average 57% approval rating for the year and placing Obama “nearly last in the ranking of former presidents’ first-year job approval averages.”
The Washington Post reports that “By 58 percent to 38 percent, Americans said they prefer smaller government and fewer services to larger government with more services.”

Causes...lending a hand

There is always a good cause to lend a helping hand to and we each have our own favorites though in times of world tragedy no nation can compare to the support our country gives to those in need. Regardless of political affiliation, race, color, religion, Americans come together and give.....

Seems like where we Started.....

We would not be "we," if a collective group of civilians did not pick up their personal guns and go to "meet," the British. We guarantee our freedom and security by being armed....guns do not kill, people do.
